Theory Of Change:
Our work is rooted in the empowerment of marginalized communities, where we believe that "those closest to the problem are closest to the solution, but furthest away from resources and power" (Glenn Martin). It's our goal to amplify those voices and create opportunities to gain resources and access to power for the most marginalized communities. We directly challenge the system that has made decisions on our behalf for a millennium. No more. We can speak for ourselves. NO DECISIONS ABOUT US WITHOUT US is our mantra. It is an honor for me to serve as an advocate for social justice where we get to impact lives where it matters the most. This is our life's work and is part of a collective journey to right the wrongs perpetrated against people of color. We fight for justice. We fight for truth. We fight for freedom. We fight for all those people who have been silenced by racism and injustice. We do NOT accept a "half a cup of freedom". We fight for a full cup of freedom 100% liberation. We want our people to enjoy the full rights and privilege of freedom, and we won't stop until everyone enjoys equal liberation and empowerment!
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Frontline Dads is to facilitate the intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and cultural development of African American men and “at-risk” youth by providing transformative programming that will empower them to assume leadership positions in their families, and communities.
During this critical time in our history, we must recognize "the urgency of now" and utilize our collective voices to end systemic racism, poverty, mass incarceration and injustice. We must work collaboratively to empower marginalized and neglected communities, and bring healing so that our families can thrive. We believe that a unified community is greater than the forces of oppression, and we can accomplish more together than we can ever accomplish separately or individually. We believe that "Those who are closest to the problem are closest to the solution, but furthest away from access to power and resources" (Glen Martin). So it is our goal to gain power and provide access to resources for those marginalized communities and directly impacted leaders so that they have the tools necessary to create the change we want to see in the world.
